Biography
Kate Bridges' first novel, THE DOCTOR'S HOMECOMING, was published in 2002. While growing up in rural Canada and later living by the Rocky Mountains, Kate developed a love for Westerns. Prior to being a full-time writer, she worked for years as a pediatric intensive care nurse. From there she studied architecture and interior design, then worked as a researcher for a television design program. Now, Kate uses her research skills in penning her own novels and pursuing her love of writing.
Kate's books have been honored with several writing awards: Barclay Gold Best Historical of the Year for THE COMMANDER, and CataRomance Reviewers' Choice Award for KLONDIKE DOCTOR. Other nominations by Romantic Times BOOKclub magazine include Best Western of the Year and Best Historical Hero of the Year. On readers' websites, some of Kate's books have been chosen as Top Picks and Buried Treasures. FRONTIER CHRISTMAS hit the USA Today Bestseller List. Her novels have been translated into nine languages and are published in eleven countries. In Canada, her books have been studied in several colleges in their commercial fiction writing courses. Kate herself has just completed postgraduate studies at Toronto's Humber College, the School of Comedy, a one-of-a-kind training ground in North America whose instructors are alumni from SNL and SCTV. Kate has written two comedy screenplays, and hopes to branch out into film as well as continue with her novels.
Currently living in Toronto, she enjoys going to movies, studying improv comedy, going recreational flying with her family, and exploring the great Canadian wild.
